SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to the scholarships offered by The University of Tulsa, the Petroleum Engineering Department offers its own scholarships to qualified students. These scholarships are contributed by generous corporate sponsors, alumni, and endowments and will increase each year based on the student's performance.
Outside scholarships are also available. Scholarship opportunities outside TU Petroleum Engineering include the following companies and organizations. The Department will notify our students as these opportunities become available.
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)
The Society of Petroleum Engineers is an excellent resource for information regarding multiple scholarship opportunities for students majoring in Petroleum Engineering. For more information, go to the SPE Petroleum Scholarships site.
Please note that many SPE sections around the world offer scholarship programs to students pursuing petroleum engineering degrees. Please check with the SPE sections near your place of residence to see whether they offer any scholarships for which you might be eligible.
Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB)
The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board is a generous sponsor of scholarships for students from Oklahoma who are majoring in Petroleum Engineering. For detailed information, visit the OERB scholarships site.
ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholars Program
The ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholars program recruits outstanding students and provides them leadership and public service opportunities throughout their college careers. The program's objective is to prepare students for success in the modern business world. The students receive scholarships, potential summer internships, business-related training and professional mentoring.
Patti Johnson Wilson Scholarship
The deadline for 2008/2009 academic year applications has passed. Applications for the 2009/2010 academic year will be announced by the TU Petroleum Engineering department during the Fall 2008 semester.
