SPE Student Chapter 1st Annual Golf Tournament
November 5, 2007 - Cedar Ridge Country Club
On November 5, 2007, the TU Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) hosted their 1st Annual Golf Tournament at Cedar Ridge Country Club to raise funds for their SPE chapter. Professors Mohan Kelkar and Leslie Thompson were invited to play as a guests of Samson Resources... even after they were told that Dr. Kelkar was very inexperienced and Dr. Thompson had never played golf! But the pre-tournament lessons paid off and they really enjoyed the day. Many alumni were on the sponsor teams and our students had a great opportunity to mingle with them.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our event sponsors and participants. Thanks to their generosity, the students raised over $15,000. As a result, more than 20 undergraduate students were able to attend the SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition in Anaheim, California this year.
