SPE Student Chapter Field Trip - March 8, 2008

The SPE Student Chapter went on a field trip to a rig site located in southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday, March 8, 2008. The trip was generously sponsored by our friends at Apache Corporation. The students toured a Neighbors drilling rig and then a production site. The students were also given a geologic tour of the surrounding area, as well as a mud logging tour. Lunch was catered by Pecan Creek Catering.
Special thanks go to Ross Murphy, Matt Watson, Amy Haush and John Turmelle for putting this trip together and to the Baker Hughes folks for having a drill bit representative at the site to talk about the different types of bits and their uses and to answer questions.
