Duke Bennett

Duke BennettDuke Bennett graduated from TU in 1985 with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering.  Upon graduating, he worked for three years on the construction of the All American Pipeline, a 1,200-mile, 30-inch diameter crude oil pipeline from Gaviota, California to McCamey, Texas.  He then worked a year for a now defunct international horizontal directional drilling contractor.  For the last 19 years Duke worked at Willbros Engineering/EPC, an international design and construction contractor, primarily of oil and gas pipelines and related facilities.  His position at Willbros is Chief Pipeline Engineer.  His daughter is a freshman at TU and plans to major in Accounting.

Why did you chose TU?

I chose to come to TU because of the reputation of its Petroleum Engineering Department.

Did TU provide you the type of education needed for you to succeed?

Yes, without a doubt.  The education I received at TU has proven invaluable to me in my career.  Being taught by distinguished faculty, and the rigorous program teaches you a work ethic you take with you everywhere you go.

Any fond memories you would like to share with us?

Just forming the friendships with fellow students and faculty that continue to this day.  That is my fondest memory of TU.
