A Tulsa Native, Brian graduated from Bishop Kelley HS before earning
a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa. After
TU, he spent several years in Texas and Louisiana working as an Engineer
for Welex and Core laboratories. In 1989 he began working for Chevron
in New Orleans , La. From 1989 until 1997 he held various positions
as a drilling representative, workover/completions engineer, and Petroleum
Engineer for the Bay Marchand and South Timbalier 21/27 Field Management
Teams. He also specialized in horizontal drilling and completion
technology during this time. In 1997, he accepted a petroleum Engineering
job with Vintage Petroleum in Tulsa, OK. In 2000 he accepted a Senior
Acquisition Engineer position with The Williams Company. During his
time at Williams he was on the team that was responsible for closing
the 2.5 billion dollar Barrett Petroleum deal. During the same time,
Williams also acquired a company that utilized horizontal drilling and
completion technology to exploit CBM resources in South east Oklahoma.
In 2002, he left Williams to found Source Rock Energy Partners in Tulsa
Oklahoma. Source Rock drills, completes, and produces natural gas, primarily
in Southeastern Oklahoma. Source Rock owns interest in 70 producing
wells and owns leasehold in over 50 sections in the Arkoma Basin.

How did TU prepare you for your career?
TU has a great history of applied Petroleum Engineering. TU does a great
job at providing a great academic program as well as the instruction of
real world engineering.
Any fond memories you would like to share?
Home football games, and social functions on Harwell field. The opening
of Keplinger Hall and being able to walk to Engineering classes (instead
of driving to North Campus) is also a fond memory. |
