Alumnus of the Month - July 2005
Scott Azar
After graduating from TU with a BSPE in December 1996 Scott went to work for Chevron. The first 5 years of his career he worked as a Drilling Representative (Drilling Supervisor) in the Gulf of Mexico, Venezuela, and the North Sea supervising drilling, completion, and workover operations. In November 2001, he transferred to Lafayette, Louisiana and since then has been working as a Drilling Engineer for the Ship Shoal Field Management Team. He recently accepted a position with International E & P in their Headquarters Drilling Group. August 1st of this year he will be transferring to Houston to take on that new and exciting challenge. His job responsibilities will include operational, engineering, and technical support to Chevron's worldwide Strategic business Units and New Opportunity Teams. Scott in his own words: Why did you choose TU? I chose TU because of its reputation as a top Engineering school. Did TU prepare you well for your job? I would say TU prepared me well for my career not only with the technical aspect, but also with cultural diversity. Any fond memories? Not when my father is constantly watching me to make sure that I studied hard! |
